Select hoops showcase 2013
The third annual Select Hoops / M-Plex Showcase was the highest scoring and highest attended in the event’s short history.
In the girls’ game, Team Select Hoops coached by Mark Spolidoro outlasted Dan Nagle’s Team M-Plex, 108-87.
In typical all-star game fashion, three-pointers were dropping from all over the court. North Attleboro’s Ashley Ahern led Team SH with 25 points and seven rebounds. Hanover’s Meaghan Raab scored 16 points and added eight rebounds in the victory. North Attleboro’s Julia Strachan added 15 point and Abington’s Jen Worden chipped in 12 points, six rebounds and six assists.
For Team M-Plex, Walpole’s Kelly Fogarty led the scoring with 23 points, including seven 3-pointers. Franklin’s Marissa Fontaine established her inside-outside dominance with 13 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. Hanover’s Hayley Wardwell added 14 points and North Attleboro’s Katie Nelson scored 10.

The boys’ game was nothing short of epic, as Tyler Patch’s Team Select Hoops clawed back to get the 103-101 win over Dick Lawless’s Team M-Plex. Silver Lake’s Kevin Deree scored the game winner with 18 seconds left.
Norwell’s Will Plansky led Team SH with 17 points while Deree scored 16, Wayland’s Joey Luchette had 13 and nine rebounds. Hingham’s Ryan Reagan added 11 points, four rebounds and three blocks.
For Team M-Plex, Scituate’s Chuck Hannah led the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds while his frontcourt mate Newton’s Sasha Hoban also notched a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Attleboro’s Peter Luongo, Silver Lake’s Drew Neal and Newton’s Daniel Chafetz all scored 11. Sharon’s Ricardo Ripley added 10 points.
