2009-2010 will be the fourth consecutive year that we will be providing you this service and we hope that this year it will be even easier to navigate and submit your town or club’s tournament.

MLK Classic 2010 Recap

The 2nd annual Martin Luther King Day Classic was a resounding success. Here is a list of champions in each division:

Sixth Grade Boys: New Bedford
Seventh Grade Boys: Mansfield
Eighth Grade Boys: Old Rochester

Sixth Grade Girls: Wellesley
Seventh Grade Girls: North Attleboro
Eighth Grade Girls: Sharon

In the 8th grade final, Old Rochester opened each half with a 10-0 that propelled them to a run away victory over Blessed Sacrament, 66-36.

Jarred Reuter led all scorers with 23 points, while also dominating the glass and throwing out many fast break starting outlet passes. Two of Reuter’s points came via slam dunk after splitting a double team in the second half. AJ Maestas added 21 points for Old Rochester. Nolan Bergeron scored the first six points of the game and provided hustle plays all day for the champions.

In the 8th grade girls final, Sharon used a late first half 12-2 run to create the separation necessary to hold off the feisty squad from Ayer-Shirley. Andrea Bender let the way for Sharon with 17 points and Lily Abarbanel chipped in with 16.
